Miss. Juliet from Spain, asked on March 25th, 2025
The monthly weather condition
What is the monthly weather condition in Tibet? How to plan my trip according to the weather?

Mr. Tenzin Sherab from Tibet Horizon, answered on March 25th, 2025
Dear. Miss Juliet, thanks for your question.
The weather in Tibet varies greatly due to different geographical locations and altitudes. Generally speaking, the weather in Lhasa has four distinct seasons, with warm summers and daytime temperatures reaching over 20°C, while winter temperatures often fall below 0°C and are particularly cold at night. Other high-altitude areas such as Mount Everest and Shigatse have a colder and drier climate, especially in winter, when the temperature is lower, making them suitable for tourists who love cold weather. Knowing the weather conditions in Tibet each month can help you choose the best time to travel. For example, summer (June to August) is the rainy season in Tibet, with mild weather and suitable for hiking, but with more precipitation; while autumn (September to October) is the most suitable season for traveling in Tibet, with pleasant temperatures and the most charming scenery.
Arranging your trip according to the weather in Tibet allows you to choose long-distance travel and plateau adventures in autumn, avoiding the cold winter and wet rainy season. Knowing the local weather conditions will not only help you choose the right clothing, but also ensure that your journey is comfortable and smooth.
Looking forward to your arrival, let us enjoy the beauty and tranquility of this magical land of Tibet together!
