Hong Kong, always known as the “Pearl of the Orient”, is an international hub of China and is visa-free for most countries in the world. And there are many international flights connecting most of international cities in the world, such as New York, London, Paris and so on. Hong Kong is a mixture of Chinese and Western cultures, which combines Chinese wisdom with western social system advantages. Travelling in Hong Kong, you will immerse yourself in the stunning night view of Victoria Harbor, taste special snacks in a local tea house called "Cha Can Ting" and experience exciting cable car upon Victoria Peak, and all of these make Hong Kong attractive.
From Hong Kong to Lhasa, there is only one direct flight (TV9911/ TV9912) which is operated by Tibet Airlines in January, 2020. The flight takes 4 hours 10 minutes. But it is very convenient to travel to major destinations in China, such as Chengdu, Chongqing, Xian, etc. You can fly to these cities for transit and then take another flight to Lhasa.
Although there is no a direct train from Hong Kong to Lhasa, you can take the High-speed Bullet Train from Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Railway Station to Guangzhou, Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, and then take China Tibet Train to Lhasa on the world’s highest Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Notes: Unlike international tourists, Hong Kong residents do not need Tibet Visa (or Tibet Travel Permit) to travel to Tibet. Join in our Tibet tours, and we will help you apply for border permit in Lhasa by using your Home Return Permit (Chinese: 回乡证).
