All international travellers to Tibet must have a Tibet Travel Permit. The amount of work and season can affect how long it takes to process a travel permit to Tibet. It usually takes one to two weeks, though it may take longer during the busiest times of the year. UK travellers need to obtain a Tibet Travel Permit in order to enter Tibet; these permits can be applied in Tibet from authorised tour operators.
