14 Days Beijing Xian, flight to Lhasa Chengdu Guilin Shanghai Tour

Hiking the Great Wall is one-in-a-lifetime thing to do for most travelers. Today, you are going to accomplish the Great Wall dream. You will be escorted about 70km from the downtown Beijing to the world-famous Mutianyu Great Wall which has fewer tourists compared with Badaling Great Wall. At the same time, it is the best Great Wall section to view the delicately beautiful scenery while appreciating the grandness of the Walls. After arriving at the ticket office, you will take a cable car to the walls of Mutianyu, and then hike about 2 hours on the Great Wall.

After the Mutianyu Great Wall hiking, you will drive back to the city. On route, take a side trip to the solemn Ming Tombs of ancient emperors in Ming Dynasty. Wander along the Sacred Road, a tranquil royal path featured with statues of divine animals and officials; also take an adventure to the mysterious Underground Palace. Before getting to your hotel, you will also make a stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to take some pictures of the world-famed "Bird’s Nest" and the "Water Cube" from the outside.

Today your guide will pick you up in the hotel after your breakfast, then start the wonderful ancient China culture and history tour!  

You will firstly get to the world's largest plaza - Tian’ anmen Square. The grandiose Tian’anmen Gate was the place where the chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People’s Republic of China to the world. Passing through Tiananmen Gate, you will enter the splendid Forbidden City, the previous home to 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties for 600 years. Magnificent architectures, intricate ornaments and touching legends make it a must-see of China. In the afternoon, head to visit the stunning and exquisite Summer Palace, and be amazed at the vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, temples, and palaces, together as a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. While in Qing Dynasty, it was the personal summer retreat for the royal families. It is made up of front hill, back hill and Kunming Lake. You will see splendid halls and pavilions in the front hill, while in the back hill, you will enjoy quiet and natural beauty.

Overnight in Beijing.

You will be met at the hotel lobby and enjoy half day leisure tour before leaving Beijing. Visit Temple of Heaven, which is the masterpiece of ancient times and China's existing largest structure for sacrifice to heaven. You could also see lots of local residents doing exercises in the square and full of vigor. After that, step into the pure Hutong nearby and pretend to be a real Beijinger for a while.

After lunch, be transferred to the train station for the 5 hours high speed train to Xian. Your Xian tour guide will wait for you at the train station and help you to transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Xian.

After breakfast, drive about 1.5 hours to witness the magnificent man-mad wonder - the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, which were interred to protect Qin Shi Huang (the first Emperor of China) in his afterlife. Over 8,000 life-sized terracotta warriors and horses with different looks and numerous bronze weapons compose a large-scale army system to reappear the majestic momentum of the Qin Army 2,000 years ago.

In the afternoon, you will visit Tang Bo Art Museum, where gives you brief history and examples of Chinese art. The calligraphy lesson will be arranged and you will be taught how to write a couple of Chinese characters. After that, visit the Bell Tower which is the largest bell tower in structure and shape and the best-preserved one in China. Continue to visit Muslim Quarter and enjoy your shopping time there.

Overnight in Xian.

Today, you will go to Xian International Airport and take flight to Lhasa.

Welcome to Lhasa! Upon your arrival at Lhasa Gonggar International Airport, your professional Tibetan guide will meet you at designated location on time, with Pickup Board. Then a comfortable car or bus and experienced driver will take you to Lhasa hotel safely. It is only 60km from the airport and takes about an hour.

After arriving at hotel, tour guide will help you check in. You can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude.

Overnight in Lhasa.

Tips:
1. To adapt to the high altitude ( over 3,600m ), you are recommended to have a good rest in the hotel, no running and intense activity, no smoking and no alcohol, no shower.
2. Please drink sufficient water and eat more vegetable, fruits, meat and eggs for more energy.
3. For the first-time visitors, it is common to have different degrees of high altitude sickness symptom.

After breakfast at your hotel, driven to visit Drepung Monastery. Drepung Monastery was ever the largest monastery with more than 10 thousand monks, and now is one of three great monasteries in Lhasa. Seen from the distant, its grand, white construction gives the appearance of a heap of rice.

In the afternoon, driven to visit Sera Monastery, which is famous for the unique “Daily Scriptures Debating” activity held from 3:30pm to 5pm in the central courtyard. Then transfer back to the hotel.

Overnight in Lhasa.

Tips:
1. The road condition to Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery is good.
2. Pack plenty of drinking water, sun glasses, suncream and some food.

After breakfast, your tour guide & driver will pick you and drive to visit the splendid Potala Palace, which is Lhasa’s cardinal landmarks. You will have a whole morning to explore this world-level architectural works: White Palace, Red Palace, corridors and stairs and countless lama’s dormitory. Others include: Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted, murals, etc.

In the afternoon, you will walk to visit the age-old Jokhang Temple, as the spiritual center of Tibet, which will deeply impress you with its magnificence and sincere pilgrims. You will see pilgrims donating butter oil to keep the lights burning for the Buddha; learning Tibetan Buddhism; hearing the red-robed Lamas praying; taking photos of the gold roof and enjoying the beautiful sunshine of Lhasa.

Finally, you will have a relaxing walk around Jokhang Temple at Barkhor Street, which is the oldest street in Lhasa, and full of religious atmosphere, showcasing Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble. Then transfer back to the hotel.

Tips:
1. In Potala Palace, your visiting time is limited on 1 hour. Climb up there, you might experience slight shortness of breath, please take your time and rest when needed.
2. Don’t disturb pilgrims and Lama. Don’t take photos of them without permission.
3. In Barkhor Street, remember to bargain and compare the price in different shops for the souvenirs when you are purchasing.

Today is free for you until you are escorted to the airport for flight to Chengdu and the guide will help you get on board.

Welcome to Chengdu. Upon your arrival at Chengdu International Airport, your professional guide will meet you at designated location on time, with Pickup Board. Then a comfortable car or bus and experienced driver will transfer you to visit Wuhou Temple, a temple in memory of Zhuge Liang who was the most famous Military strategist in the Three Kingdoms. Surrounded by old cypresses and classical red walls, the temple has an atmosphere of nostalgia. Then visit Jinli Ancient Street, one of the oldest streets to appreciate the local snacks and artifacts. The elegant style of the architectures tells you what Sichuan looks like during the Qing Dynasty.

Overnight in Chengdu.

Today, you will go to explore these tree features one by one. First is to visit the lovely Giant Pandas in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, which is the No. 1 thing to do in Chengdu. You will leave your hotel early and drive about 30 minutes to the panda base so that you can catch up the great moments of pandas, such as feeding, playing, climbing tree, etc. There are different enclosures for pages of different ages, such as all around to see baby pandas, 1 year-old pandas, teenage pandas, and older pandas. Beautiful walking paths will lead you to visit the enclosures from one to next. Enjoy the happy time with pandas.

Then send to airport to take flight to Guilin.

Overnight in Guilin.

Today, you will be met at the hotel lobby and start to explore the Li River on Cruise. Enjoy Li River Cruise tour tour with buffet lunch on board. Deluxe cruise will be arranged with decent facility and good service. Savor the fairy-tale scenery while cruising down the meandering river to Yangshuo. You can go on the sundeck or just sit and appreciate the picturesque scenery from the window. After disembarking, walk through the West Street or take sightseeing car to the parking lot.

In the afternoon, drive back to Guilin downtown for overnight in the late afternoon. You could have a rest on the vehicle during the driving.

Overnight in Guilin.

In the morning, you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the badge of Guilin city. The hill looks exactly like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water of the Li River. You could climb up to the top and take full view of Guilin’s hills and rivers. Walking along the Li River and Shanhu Lake, seeing the Golden and Silver Twin Pagodas at the bank of the lake. After that, drive to visit Reed Flute Cave which is a famous scenic spot offering a magic fairyland of stalactites, stalagmites in fantastic shapes and colors.

In the afternoon, drive to Guilin airport about 1 hour. Fly to Shanghai in the afternoon. Your Shanghai tour guide will wait for you at the airport and help you to transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Shanghai.

Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and start to explore the Modern city of China. Firstly go to visit Jade Buddha Temple, which is famous for the seated Buddha, encrusted with jewels, which is said to weigh 1,000 kg.Then visit the exterior of Oriental Pearl TV Tower, while walking on Riverside Promenade Bingjiang Da Dao. Enroute have a shopping stop at silk museum.

In the afternoon, visit Yuyuan Garden, which is a Chinese classic garden in city downtown, shopping time at Shanghai Old Street and Nanjing Road which is the earliest commercial street in Shanghai, you could look for some special souvenirs there. After that, enjoy a leisure walk along the Bund, famous for groups of buildings known as "a Gallery of world architecture". Then transfer back to hotel.
