Dirapuk Monastery, located on the north slope of Mount Kailash, is a key stop for pilgrims while performing the Kailash Kora. It's about 20 kilometers from Darchen, and can be reached on the first day of the pilgrimage. From here, travelers can enjoy breathtaking views of the north face of Mount Kailash. Furthermore, followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon hold ceremonies here to cleanse themselves of sins. The monastery also features meditation caves for devotees to quiet contemplation. Most pilgrims pray here before continuing their pilgrimage around Mount Kailash.
Dirapuk Monastery Guesthouse primarily offers shared rooms equipped with basic amenities such as beds and warm blankets. However, there are no private bathrooms or showers. Electricity may only be available for a few hours each night, so it is recommended to bring a power bank to charge your devices. Hot water is available for making coffee or tea. Food options are limited, mainly consisting of instant noodles and fried rice; you can prepare some snacks and food before your trek. Despite its simple facilities, the Dirapuk Monastery Guesthouse offers breathtaking sunset views over Mount Kailash. After a day of trekking, it's an excellent place to experience the tranquility and grandeur of Mount Kailash.

Hotels around Mount Kailash
Hotel options vary along the Kailash travel. While guesthouses along the Kailash kora are relatively basic, they still provide essential accommodations. In Darchen, the starting point of the pilgrimage, and the surrounding area, accommodation options are more comprehensive and plentiful.
