    Today, you will bboard your Singapore Lhasa flight from Singapore Changi Airport to Lhasa Gonggar Airport. After a 10-hour and 25-minute journey, you will arrive in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Upon your arrival at Gonggar airport, your guide will meet you in the airport arrival hall, holding a sign with your name. Then a driver will take you to your hotel in Lhasa.

    After arriving at the hotel, your guide will help you check in. Then, you can rest and take some time to acclimatize to the high-altitude environment, ensuring a comfortable start to your adventure.

    Tips:
    1. To adapt to the high altitude ( over 3,600m ), you are recommended to have a good rest in the hotel, no running and intense activity, no smoking and no alcohol, no shower.
    2. Please drink sufficient water and eat more vegetable, fruits, meat and eggs for more energy.
    3. For the first-time visitors, it is common to have different degrees of high altitude sickness symptom.

    Day 2: Lhasa tour

    Attractions: Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

    After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit Drepung Monastery. Housing over 10,000 monks, Drepung Monastery is one of the three great monasteries in Lhasa. From a distance, its grand white buildings is like a massive heap of rice. It holds great historical and spiritual significance in Tibetan Buddhism.

    In the afternoon, we will head to Sera Monastery. It's famous for the unique “Daily Scriptures Debating” activity, held from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the central courtyard. The debate is a form of Buddhist scholarly discussion, where Tibetan monks engage in intense questioning and debate to test the understanding of Buddhist scriptures among each other. Their unique gestures and body movements will immerse you in an academic atmosphere even if you don't understand their language. After the visit, you will return to your hotel for the evening.

    Tips:
    1. The road condition to Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery is good.
    2. Pack plenty of drinking water, sun glasses, suncream and some food.

    After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to visit the magnificent Potala Palace, the most iconic landmark of Lhasa. You’ll spend the entire morning exploring this architectural masterpiece, including the White Palace, Red Palace, corridors, stairways, and numerous lamas’ dormitory. Along the way, you’ll see many Buddha statues, intricate murals, red-robed lamas, and countless pilgrims.

    In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Jokhang Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist temple built in 647 AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo to commemorate the arrival of Princess Bhrikuti of Nepal. This ancient temple will captivate you with its grandeur and devoted atmosphere. Pilgrims are offering butter oil to keep the lamps burning for Buddha and lamas are praying for blessings. You can take photos of the golden roof and soak in the warm sunlight of Lhasa.

    Finally, you will have a relaxing walk around Jokhang Temple at Barkhor Street, a bustling commercial street serving as an important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists for centuries. It is also a popular shopping destination for visitors, offering a glimpse into traditional Tibetan life and culture.

    Tips:
    1. In Potala Palace, your visiting time is limited on 1 hour. Climb up there, you might experience slight shortness of breath, please take your time and rest when needed.
    2. Don’t disturb pilgrims and Lama. Don’t take photos of them without permission.
    3. In Barkhor Street, remember to bargain and compare the price in different shops for the souvenirs if you are purchasing.

    Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse (3900m) – Shigatse (3800m) (350km, 7-8hrs)

    As we leave the Tibetan capital, we'll drive southwest toward the stunning Yamdrok Lake. First the winding road takes you up to the Gampa La Pass (4,794 meters) where you’ll catch your first breathtaking view of the lake. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Yamdrok Lake stretches across the landscape. The majestic Mount Nyenchen Khangsar stands tall in the distance within the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain Range. Then you'll descend to the lake’s shore for a closer look before heading to Nagartse for a delicious local lunch.

    After lunch, we’ll continue toward Gyantse, crossing the Karo La Pass at 5,159 meters. Here, you can see the glittering glacier cascading down the slopes of Mount Nyenchen Khangsar. In Gyantse, we’ll visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery and the remarkable 32-meter Kumbum Stupa. This unique stupa has nine floors and 108 chapels filled with thousands of murals, Buddhist images, and Buddha statues. Finally, we’ll continue our journey in the late afternoon, reaching Shigatse before nightfall.

    Day 5: Shigatse - EBC (5200m) (350km, 7-8hrs)

    After breakfast, you’ll set off directly toward the highlight of this journey -- Mount Everest. The first landmark on the journey is Gyatsola Pass (5280m), where you’ll catch your first glimpse of majestic Mount Everest.

    As you continue, you'll enter the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve, where you'll stop at Gawula Pass (5198m). Here, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayas, with the towering Everest leading the way. This is your second opportunity to admire the grandeur of the world’s highest peak.

    Next, the road winds its way toward Everest Base Camp (5000m), a new zigzag route that brings you ever closer to the mighty Everest. As you make your way along the turns, the mountain slowly unveils itself, with each curve offering a closer and more dramatic view. This is your third glimpse of Everest, and the excitement grows as you near the base camp.

    Arriving at Everest Base Camp, you’ll be in awe of the giant pyramid peak of Mount Everest towering before you. As the day transitions into dusk, the golden light of the setting sun casts a warm glow over the northern face of the mountain, presenting your fourth breathtaking view of Everest.

    As night falls, the starry sky above unveils the sparkling Milky Way, and the snow-covered peak of Everest stands in stark contrast against the darkened sky, creating your fifth and final unforgettable view of the mountain.

    Depending on the season, you’ll stay overnight either at Everest Base Camp or in a nearby village if the EBC tent hotels are closed during the winter months.

    Day 6: EBC – Gyirong (370km, 8-9hrs)

    In the morning, before leaving the base camp, you'll visit the Rongbuk Monastery. Standing at 5154 meters above sea level, it's the world's highest monastery and a unique place where nuns and monks live side by side.

    After that, we can drive from EBC to Kyirong border. On the way, you pass by the Mt. Shishabangma, which stands at a staggering 8027 meters. Besides, the golden glow reflecting off the Pelku Tso Lake beneath the peaks is a sight to behold. After passing the Ghungtang Lhamo(5236M), we will arrive in Kyirong in late afternoon.

Tour Tips:

Knows before You Book:

1. Travelers to Tibet should have a moderate physical fitness level. Patients with serious hypertension, heart disease, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, and cold should be restricted from traveling to Tibet.

2. Book at least 20 days in advance so the tour operator may have enough time to apply for and deliver your Tibet Travel Permit. Normally, it takes around 8-9 days to process your Tibet Travel Permit from the Tibet Tourism Bureau and another 3-4 days to deliver your Permit to your address in Chinese mainland.

3. A Tibet train/flight ticket is not included in our tour package. If you book with us, we can help you book your train/flight ticket. The train ticket to Lhasa is normally issued 15-60 days before departure. During peak seasons (from June to mid-October, during the Chinese Spring Festival and other public holidays in China), train tickets may be issued only 1-9 days before departure.

4. Price is based on double occupancy. Solo travelers who prefer to stay in a room by themselves need to pay for the additional charge of single room supplement. Please consult our travel consultants for specific prices.

5. Your airport/train station pick-up and drop-off in Lhasa needed to be arranged by the tour agency as foreign visitors are prohibited from independent traveling.

6. If you plan to travel to Lhasa via Kathmandu, please do not apply for a China L Visa in advance. You need to apply for a Tibet Group Visa from the China Embassy in Kathmandu via a travel agency. If you have your China L Visa, it will automatically expire when applying for a Tibet Group Visa.

7. Please read the Payment Methods, Terms and Conditions and Cancellation policies before you book.

Knows after You Book:

1. Please provide photocopies of your passports and China L visas at least 15 days before the travel date, making sure we have enough time to apply for your Tibet Travel Permit. If you have other type of visas, please contact your travel consultant.

2. Make sure to bring warm and comfortable clothing and walking shoes for your Tibet trip.

3. It is recommended to bring spending cash for the whole trip. In Lhasa, you can withdraw money with a foreign bank card or change your foreign currency into Chinese Renminbi (RMB, CNY).

4. Travel insurance is provided by The People’s Insurance Company (Group) of China Limited (www.epicc.com.cn), which covers tourist accident risks only in China. Tourists are recommended to purchase additional insurance on their own.

5. Altitude Sickness is a common reaction in the plateau. Common symptoms include fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite, headache, etc. Normally such symptoms will disappear in 2 days. You’d better consult your doctor and bring some medicine, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen and nutrient supplements.

6. During your stay in Tibet, please obey the law and respect the local religion and customs. Do not photograph military facilities, and other politically sensitive areas; Do not accept any news media interview; Do not collect secret intelligence; Do not wave antisocial banners, yelling antisocial slogans; Do not use aerial cameras; Do not venture into areas beyond planned itineraries.

7. Souvenirs like knives, antiques, animal skulls, etc. are not allowed to be taken out of China at customs. Please don’t buy this kind of souvenir.
