No COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Test Requirement for Travelers to China from April 29
ContentStarting from April 29, 2023 travelers entering China will no longer be required to show a negative PCR test result, announced by the spokesman from China Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
Inbound travelers may choose to take antigen tests within 48 hours prior to boarding instead of taking nucleic acid tests. And airlines will no longer check testing results for all travelers, no matter which country you are from. Even if your destination is Tibet, you will not be required to provide any testing results.

This is proof that China is taking new steps to further facilitate cross-border travel, guided by the principle of guaranteeing safe, healthy and orderly trips. And the announcement comes before the Labor Day holiday, showing that China is expected to see the upcoming recovery of tourism.
However, we would like to remind all inbound and outbound travelers to take the test to make sure that they can have a healthy and pleasant journey in China and a safe return home.
