Kathmandu to Lhasa: 8-Day Overland Adventure

This trip from Kathmandu to Lhasa was the most shocking and touching one in my travel experience. From the exotic customs of Nepal to the majestic Himalayas to the mysterious and pure Tibet, every day was full of surprises and touching moments.

Our driver was skilled and drove very steadily on the complex mountain roads; the tour guide - Tashi Wangyal was knowledgeable and considerate, explaining the local history, religion, and culture to us at every stop along the way, making the journey more in-depth. The itinerary was also very reasonable. After entering China at the Gyirong Port, there was plenty of time to adapt to the altitude, and there was no discomfort throughout the whole process; the sunrise on Everest was also very shocking, allowing me to see the golden light of the top of the world with my own eyes; attractions such as Tashilhunpo Monastery, Yamdrok Lake, and Potala Palace made us deeply feel the profoundness and tranquility of Tibetan culture.
