Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet Autonomous Region, well-known as one of the most popular tourist destinations with its ancient culture, magnificent temple architecture, splendid senic spots, as well as its superior geographical location. Shigatse area is located in the southwest of Tibet Autonomous Region and southwest of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where Brahmaputra River and the Nanchu River confluent. Besides, it borders with Nepal, Bhutan, India and other countries. Shigatse Heping Airport is located 43 kilometers from Shigatse city. Currently, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport will run a flight everyday to connect with Shigatse Heping Airport. Besides, buses are also available between Shigatse with Lhasa, Gyantse and Lhatse. If you plan to get to some places in Shigatse where has no buses available, you can have an overland tour via National Highway 318, the Shigatse - Yatung Highway, the Lhasa - Purang Highway, and the China-Nepal Friendship Highway.
