From Lhasa to Nepal: A Journey Through Tibet’s Highlights

We had a 7-day tour from Lhasa to the Nepal border near Gyirong, and it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had! The tour started with a few days in Lhasa to help us acclimate to the altitude. We visited iconic attractions like the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. Our tour guide was engaging and took us to Barkhor Street, explaining Tibetan customs and daily life as we walked, which helped us connect with the local culture.

After fully adjusting to the high altitude, we headed to Shigatse, passing the beautiful Yamdrok Lake along the way. On the 5th day, we finally arrived at EBC. We were lucky enough to witness the sunrise just before we left — the peaceful and majestic view of the golden peaks is something I’ll never forget. Both the guide and driver were professional and caring, and the vehicle was equipped with oxygen tanks, which made the entire trip feel safe and comfortable.
