Traveling Tibet in Winter: Discovering Unique Beauty of Snowscapes

My friends and I chose this winter tour because the costs would be much lower. Our friendly consultant told us that typically Lhasa and the surrounding areas saw light snowfall. But we still worried that the landscapes, especially at Yamdrok and Drak Yerpa would be blanketed by snow. It turns out we don’t need to worry. Even in winter, the lake did not freeze completely and offered stunning scenery. The water was icy blue and the mountains at the distance were covered by white snow, forming a harmonious contrast. Also, the way to Ganden and Drak Yerpa was not blocked by heavy snow. The temples after the snow had a unique charm. All in all, I think the 6-day winter Tibet tour showed us the distinctive beauty of snowy landscapes. We really enjoyed this wonderful trip with Tibet Horizon.
