Enjoyable Slow Travel in Lhasa with Yamdrok Encounter
Traveling to Tibet is one of my parents’ dreams and we finally made it to this wonderful land this May. The altitude of Lhasa and Yamdrok is not as high as Mt. Everest or Mt. Kailash. My parents had no problem acclimating to the altitude. Also, the traveling path is slow, reducing the risks of altitude sickness and allowing us to fully appreciate the beautiful buildings at Potala Palace and monasteries. Yamdrok, the sacred lake in Tibet, offers stunning scenery. The water is crystal-clean, mirroring the white clouds. There’s a vast grassland by the lake and yaks and sheep grazing there. Strolling along the lakeside, we felt that the time had slowed down. Our guide, Mr. Kalsang Rinchen was a good accompany. He followed our physical conditions and shared with us many local customs and tales. It’s a really enjoyable 5-day tour. I appreciate Tibet Horizon’s efforts and good arrangements.
