I’ve just completed a long-awaited trip to Tibet, and these 16 days have been truly unforgettable. Our journey began at the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and we traveled westward, marveling at the serene beauty of Yamdrok Lake. The starry skies and the sunrise at Everest Base Camp are memories that will stay with me forever. But what I most eagerly anticipated was the trek to Mount Kailash. I love pushing my limits, and standing at the foot of this sacred, myth-enshrouded mountain, I experienced a deep sense of inner peace. At the ancient ruins of the Guge Kingdom, I felt the passage of time and the echoes of history; these old ruins speak of a mysterious and fascinating past. Finally, the tranquil waters of Namtso Lake provided the perfect ending to this incredible journey.
All in all, this trip through Western Tibet has given me an unparalleled experience. It was not just a physical adventure, but a spiritual awakening. Whether standing before the sacred Mount Kailash, exploring the ancient remnants of the Guge Kingdom, or gazing out over the still waters of Namtso, each place filled me with a profound sense of awe. If you’re seeking peace for the soul or simply wish to immerse yourself in the beauty of Tibet’s natural landscapes and rich history, this journey will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
During our visit to Yamdrok, we took this group photo with our guide.
