Tibet Travel Permit for SingaporeTourists

The Visa-Free policy for Singapore citizens allows them to enter China for up to 30 days without a visa. But applying for a Tibet Travel Permit is a must for nationals of Singapore who plan to go to China for a Tibet tour. Once you decide to travel to Tibet, you need to book a tour with a qualified travel agency since international tourists are not allowed to travel to Tibet independently. Then your travel agency will assist you in applying for your Tibet Travel Permit with a scanned copy of your passport. For certain remote areas outside Lhasa that you want to travel to, those places may require additional permits. If your tailor-made Tibet tour includes places like Everest Base Camp, your travel agency will mark down and help you apply for the required permits to ensure a completed Tibet tour for you.

For visitors traveling to Tibet from Nepal, no matter what nationality they are, they will need to apply for a Tibet Group Visa. Only a local travel agency can help you with the application through the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. When you arrive in Kathmandu, you need to leave your passport to your travel guide to go through the application process, which will take about three working days. When received, you will be arranged to take the vehicle to Lhasa from Nepal.
